An image/voice communication device and an image display method which can display main persons of a conference, for example, to be easily grasped. A speaking person identifying part (12) performs voice recognition of voice data on each participant in the conference and identifies a speaking person according to the result of the voice recognition and data on the participants stored in a participant database (11). A speech frequency and period measuring and recording part (13) measures and records the frequency and period of speeches made by the identified speaking person and stores them in a speech frequency and period database (14). This processing is performed with respect to each participant who has made a speech to update data in the speech frequency and period database (14). On the other hand, the frequency and period of the speeches in the speech frequency/period database (14) are referred to every fixed period to sort a participant list, to update display area information, and to display the images (still images or moving images) of the participants according to the order in the participant list and the display area information by a previously selected display method. |
