An automatic focusing method for a projector based on a sensor, comprising: providing a sensor at a position corresponding to a lower limit (301) edge or an upper limit (302) edge of an effective focusing range of a projector lens; when there is a need for re-focusing, firstly looking up and determining clearest focusing parameters of the lens when the clearest projected image can be obtained (S102); and then focusing the lens to enable the lens to pass through the focusing reference point at least once until the lens stops at a position corresponding to the clearest focusing parameters, so that the automatic focusing is completed (S103). This focusing method has the advantages of being capable of eliminating a mechanical accumulative error and greatly improving the focusing precision. After adopting this solution, precision requirements for mechanical coordination are reduced, so that manufacturing costs of a projector can be further reduced. |
