According to the present invention, a method for configuring a device in a communications system comprises: a step of discovering an access point (AP) to be accessed based on a neighborhood area network (NAN); a step of transmitting an accession message for connecting a device to the AP; a step of receiving a public message in response to the accession message from the AP; a step of extracting configuration data from the public message and transmitting a confirmation message to the AP; and a step of connecting the AP using the configuration data.
