1. A method of using a medical anchor system, the method comprising:
deploying subcutaneous anchors of a medical anchor system through a skin penetration point that is occupied by a medical instrument, the subcutaneous anchors being deployed in a subcutaneous region along an underside of a skin layer proximate to the skin penetration point, the subcutaneous anchors extending distally from a distal end of a retainer body of the medical anchor system; and securing a first external portion of the medical instrument to a second body of the medical anchor system, the second body being tethered to the retainer body via a flexible member that extends proximally away from a proximal end of the retainer body.
