The applicator head (18) has two applicator regions extending between its front and rear ends (20, 24). The first region is a soft one allowing capillary transport of the cosmetic product (14) and used to apply the product, whilst the second region is a hard, dimensionally-stable one used to operate the valve (16) for the reservoir vessel (12). The second region comprises a solid plastic sleeve extending around the first region, or alternatively the second region comprises a central tube made from a solid, dimensionally-stable plastic material surrounded by the first region. A capillary fibre material is used to form the first region.
