The present invention relates to a client terminal (CT) composed to download an upcoming sequence of a segment of multimedia contents stored in at least one remote server. Each segment is induced from one or more representatives. The client terminal includes: a calculator (7) which determines a value of a effective function of recognized quality of each combination and time for downloading each combination with respect to some combinations of available representatives of the segment, which is stored or not stored in an identified cache arranged between the CT and a server; a module (8) which selects an effective function value having download time lower than a time threshold value among the determined values of the effective function; and a communication module (2) which downloads a representative, related to the selected combination of the representative, on the CT.
