Improved padlock has a lock body (1) and a steel cable (2), whereby steel cable is flexible and has two ends, through which the lock body runs so as to form a closed shackle. The lock body has a housing, a selection arrangement (13), two pushbuttons (14), two thrust elements (15) and two latch plate trap elements (16). The housing of lock body has an upper housing (110a) and a lower housing (110b), which conform to each other. A holding section is provided in the center and one housing cavity (111) on each of the two sides of the housing. The housing cavity contains a guiding cavity (119), which runs through the inner portion. The housing has two latch plate trap holes (118) at one end, through which the steel cable runs. The selection arrangement is in the holding section and comprises a number wheel set (131) and a thrust plate (132). The number wheel set can be turned on a correct number combination, in order to permit the thrust plate to move radially.The latch plate trap elements in each case has a notch in order for second side plate of thrust element for receiving and for pushing to swivel. A toothed rack (164) is provided at the outer end, in order to engage with the steel cable. A torsion spring (S3) is inserted between the two latch plate elements whereby torsion spring has two legs each of which presses against the inner side of latch plate trap elements in order to produce a stretching spring action, which enables the toothed rack (164) to move in the latch plate trap hole of the housing.
