The method involves illuminating an object (1) with an ultra-frequent pulse from a non-coherent light (2). A fluorescent colorant (5) is illuminated with a pulse from a laser light, where the ultra-frequent pulse from the non-coherent light is emitted from the colorant. The colorant is placed outside an area, which faces away from an image sensor (3) by the object. The colorant is placed adjacent to the object and within a light reflector (11), and laterally displaced to a direction from the image sensor to the object. An independent claim is also included for a light source for illuminating an object with ultra-frequent pulses from a non-coherent light.
