PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vaccine compositions.SOLUTION: The vaccine compositions of the invention comprise: a) indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) of SEQ ID NO:1 or an immunogenically active peptide fragment comprising a contiguous sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 including SEQ ID NO:6, or nucleic acid encoding the IDO or the peptide fragment; and b) an adjuvant. In one aspect, the immunogenically active peptide fragment comprises a consecutive amino acid sequence in a range of 5-50 amino acids. In another aspect, the immunogenically active peptide fragment is an amino acid sequence of contiguous 8-11 amino acids and/or b) contiguous 18-30 amino acids of IDO of SEQ ID NO:1.
