PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber and a fiber assembly that are excellent in chemical resistance, heat resistance and flexibility, etc., as a constituent element of a product, for example, such as a filter in which, conventionally, glass fibers are mainly used.SOLUTION: A fiber or fiber assembly is obtained by using a specific polymer containing a silsesquioxane skeleton. A method for producing a fiber or fiber assembly comprises the steps of: spinning a polymer solution that is prepared by using a specific polymer containing a silsesquioxane skeleton by dry spinning or wet spinning; and subjecting a spun fiber to heat treating. A filter is obtained by using the aforementioned fiber or fiber assembly. |
