A transmission/reception system and a processing method for efficiently transmitting a robustness stream are provided to process and transmit the streams processing stream. If a first stream is inputted, an adaptor unit(110) prepares for a space for the insertion of a second stream within the first stream. If the second stream is inputted, an RS encoder unit(130) performs the RS encoding. A CRC(cyclic redundancy check) processing unit(140) converts the second stream encoded with RS into the stream in which the CRC bit string is added. The stream is inserted into the prepared space within the first stream. A stuffer outputs the transport stream.
