The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock which is equipped with a locking mechanism (1, 2, 3) consisting of a rotary latch (1) and locking means (2, 3). Said locking means (2, 3) are embodied as a toggle arrangement (2, 3) which is stressed by a spring (4) and acts upon the locking mechanism (1). Said toggle arrangement (2, 3) is articulated on a housing (5) and on the rotary latch (1). According to the invention, said toggle arrangement (2, 3) initially triggers, during the transition of the locking mechanism (1, 2, 3) from an open position to a closed position, an opening movement in the locking mechanism (1), and after reaching a dead centre position, said toggle arrangement triggers a closing movement in the locking mechanism. |
