Embodiments of the present invention relates to an interface for memory expansion. A computing device communicating with a memory device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a core; a memory controller generating or determining information used for access control for the memory device under the control of the core; a protocol engine packetizing information received from the memory controller; and an optical interface converting a packet of an electric signal form received from the protocol engine into a packet of an optical signal form, and transmitting the converted packet to the memory device. According to the embodiments of the present invention, a memory can be easily expanded.
