PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and an image display device capable of achieving high luminance while suppressing increase in size of the device.SOLUTION: A light source device includes one or more solid light sources, a first optical system, an emission part and a second optical system. The one or more solid light sources emit light in a predetermined wavelength region. The first optical system has at least one aspherical surface for making luminous fluxes from the one or more solid light sources substantially parallel fluxes. The emission part has one or more luminous bodies for emitting visible light in a longer wavelength region than wavelength of the light by being excited by the light from the one or more solid light sources, and it can emit the light including the light in the predetermined wavelength region and the visible light from the one or more luminous bodies as emission light. The second optical system has at least one concave reflection surface, and it condenses light to the one or more luminous bodies which the emission part has by reflecting the light from the one or more solid light sources which has been made substantially parallel fluxes by the first optical system by the concave reflection surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
