The calibrated bistable air release consists of upper and lower bodies (9A,9B) which are screwed or pressed together and have orifices (5,6) to the inside of the cooker and atmosphere respectively. During a first phase a bimetal disk (3) is open and allows air/vapour to escape through the small upper calibrated orifice at the same time as pressure and temperature in the cooker increase. When the disk closes the air release is cut off : An independent claim is also included for: A method for including a stage of air purging while the pressure cooker continues to build pressure and temperature.
|
