A vehicle tow bar coupling (2) has a coupling head (4) with coupling shaft (3) defining a main shaft (5) and integrated permanent magnet (13) angle sensor (8) measuring the relative motion of the coupled drawbar. Independent claims are included for the use of coupling head and drawbar materials with higher friction than the bearing so that head and drawbar rotate together.
