The image of a periodically moving object such as heart is constructed, by acquiring measurement data from the X-ray detector in the time interval corresponding to tense of cardiac cycle determined from the electrocardiogram signal. The time interval for restoring the image is changed according to heart rate. An independent claim is also included for computed tomography apparatus.
