PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively provide drivers with information on facilities when facility-related images are superimposed on an actual scenery and displayed.

SOLUTION: For providing information on facilities present in front of a vehicle, this image display apparatus for vehicles displays facility-related images on the facilities in such a way that they may be superimposed on an actual scenery visually recognizable through a windshield from a driver of the vehicle and controls display in such a display mode as to display a prescribed facility-related image when the facilities are visually recognizable and not to display the prescribed facility-related image when the facilities are not visually recognizable. At this time, the start of the display of the facility-related images is controlled on the basis of a prescribed operation of the driver.
