<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial agent exhibiting high antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, Trichophyton and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The antimicrobial agent comprises vitamin K3 and/or vitamin K5 based on the finding that these vitamins have high antimicrobial activity. This agent exhibits high antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus epidermis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Trichophyton, Candida yeast, dandruff yeast and the like.
