PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden imposed on a subject when introducing a capsule into the subject and when adjusting the position of the capsule. SOLUTION: An apparatus is provided which comprises the capsule 1 housing an function operating section for carrying out predetermined functions, a string-like position adjustment member 2 connected to the capsule 1 which extends to a predetermined length so that a part of the position adjustment member locates outside of the subject when the capsule 1 is introduced into the subject, a conical member 3 arranged on a connecting position of the capsule 1 and the position adjustment member 2, a detection member 4 for detecting whether a thread-like member 8 (mentioned below) is exposed or not within the subject when carrying out position adjustment, and a grip section 5 for holding the apparatus while the apparatus is used by a doctor or the like. The position adjustment member 2 is configured so that the contact area with the in vivo tissue is larger when carrying out position adjustment of the capsule 1 than when introducing the capsule 1 into the subject.
