PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image diagnostic apparatus capable of obtaining a cardiac tomography with reduced motion artifacts caused by the pulsation of the heart and a three-dimensionally displayed image in an appropriate direction of visual axis in a region to be noticed in a short period of time. SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus 1 comprises a priority order determining means 107a for ranking coronary artery branches to be noticed in the order of priority by estimating the coronary artery branch related to a disease based on the electrocardiographic information read by an electrocardiograph 106 and a static cardio-time phase database 200, and ranking directions of the initial visual axis in the order of priority based on a visual axis direction database 300, so that a tomography is reconstructed based on the cardio-time phase suitable for each coronary artery branch to be noticed according to the order of priority. The X-ray CT apparatus 1 also executes electrocardiographic synchronous reconstruction for setting the direction of visual axis so that the coronary artery branch to be noticed is located in front in the direction of initial visual axis of the three-dimensional display. Furthermore, the X-ray CT apparatus 1 shows the result of ranking of the coronary artery branch to be noticed in the order of priority to an operator in advance, so that the operator can change the result of ranking in the order of priority if necessary.
