<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a flow of electric energy from a solar cell to a capacitor so as to improve the charge efficiency of the capacitor by the solar cell, in a charging apparatus which charges an electric double layer capacitor (hereinafter referred to as a capacitor) by a solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: The charging apparatus 10 comprises (a) a DC-DC converter 32 which has at least a switch 40 and converts power supplied from the solar cell 12 to the capacitor 14, according to the variable duty ratio of the switch, (b) a detecting circuit 50 which detects the charge current of the capacitor, and (c) a controller 60 which determines the duty ratio so that the charge current of the capacitor may be substantially maximized, without referring to the charge voltage Vc of the capacitor though it refers to the charge current Ic detected by the detecting circuit, and then controls the switch so that the determined duty ratio may be materialized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
