OPTICAL INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDING/REPRODUCING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING CONDITION SETUP METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording condition setup method of an optical information recording medium by which optimum erasing power can be set simply.

SOLUTION: A signal level corresponding to reflection light quantity of an unrecorded track is measured by irradiating an optical information recording medium with reproduction light (step A02). After that a test pattern is recorded with the prescribed recording power (step A04), the test pattern is erased while varying stepwise erasing power (step A05). Signal levels corresponding to the reflection light quantity in each erasing power are measured (step A06), erasing power in which difference between the signal level and the signal level corresponding to reflection light quantity of the unrecorded track is within the prescribed range is extracted (step A07). The minimum erasing power out of erasing power extracted in the step A07 is set to the optimum erasing power (step A10).
