PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device suppressing increase in rotating torque of a seal, securing high sealing performance and improving durability of a bearing. SOLUTION: A seal 9 comprises a slinger 11 and a seal plate 12 which are formed to have an approximately L-shaped cross section and arranged opposing to each other. The slinger 11 is provided with a cylindrical part 11a press-fitted to an inner ring 3, a rising plate part 11b extending from the cylindrical part 11a to the outer diameter side, and an inclined part 11c having an edge bent at 30 to 45°at a tip of the rising plate part 11b. The seal plate 12 comprises a core bar 13 internally fitted to an outer member 10 and a seal member 14 vulcanized and bonded to the core bar 13. The seal member 14 is provided with first and second side lips 14a, 14b formed to be inclined to the outer diameter side and brought into sliding contact with the slinger 11, a radial lip 14d brought into sliding contact with the outside face of the inclined part 11c, and a cylindrical inner end part 14c fixed to an inner edge of the core bar 13. By making the inner end part 14c oppose to the cylindrical part 11a, a labyrinth seal 15 is constituted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
