摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid lowering of drivability resulting from the rich clip of an air-fuel ratio in a fuel injection control device of a direct injection type internal combustion engine allowing fuel injection in the compression stroke. SOLUTION: This fuel injection control device of the direct injection type internal combustion engine allowing the fuel injection in the compression stroke is formed switchable between a first fuel injection mode and a second fuel injection mode in which the air-fuel ratio is set to an air-fuel ratio excessively richer than the first fuel injection mode. The fuel injection control device comprises a first limit value set means 21 and a second limit value set means 22 setting the limit values of the excessively rich side air-fuel ratios in the first and second fuel injection modes and a fuel injection mode switching means 12 switching the fuel injection mode to the second fuel injection mode when the target air-fuel ratio in the first fuel injection mode is lower than the first limit value.
