A chair which has aesthetic effects by use of sewing stitches is provided to obtain visual aesthetic effects and provide a user with convenience by sewing covering materials and curved veneer board together. In a chair made of wood, a seat and a backplate are integrally formed or separated from each other. The seat and backplate are made of chip and veneer board. Covering materials(3,4) are cut to conform to the shape and the size of the seat or the backplate. The covering materials(3,4) are connected to front and rear surfaces of the wood(2) with an adhesive. The edges of the wood(2) of covering material(3,4) are sewn by a backstitch. Aesthetic effects are created by the contrast of the size of the stitch and the thickness and color of a sewing thread(5).
