METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING A FAKE PATH IN A RECEIVER IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A fake path detection method in a receiver of a mobile communication system and a device thereof are provided to eliminate a fake path detected by ripples of a baseband pulse shaping filter, in order to detect a location of an available multi-path signal in a DS(Direct-Sequence) CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) system. Peak energies and peak indexes of peaks of signals received from a base station are detected(900). Fake path inspection for the peaks is conducted on the basis of the peak indexes and the peak energies(902). Energies of peaks which are not decided as fake paths are compared with a predetermined finger allocation threshold value(904). Fingers are allocated to peaks exceeding the finger allocation threshold value(906).
