An active front wheel steering apparatus including a clearance compensator is provided to apply a force a bearing supporting a worm shaft toward a worm wheel by using a compression spring, a ball, and a fixing bolt. In an active front wheel steering apparatus including a clearance compensator, first and second bearings(340,345) are provided in a gear ratio conversion apparatus and includes a worm shaft. The clearance compensator is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the first bearing by machining a hole in a housing to apply a load toward a worm wheel. The clearance compensator includes a ball(310), a compression coil spring(320), and a fixing bolt(330). The second bearing is a self-aligning bearing or a deep groove ball bearing.
