A suspension device for adjusting height of a vehicle and a method for controlling the same are provided to improve riding comfort and to stop adjusting height of the vehicle when all height sensors are in failure. A suspension device for adjusting height of a vehicle comprises left and right height sensors(12L,12R,22L,22R), and left and right height adjusting actuators, and an ECU(30). The left and the right height sensors are facing each others from a front wheel side(FL,FR) or a rear wheel side(RL), and senses height of the vehicle. The left and the right height adjusting actuators are mated to each of height sensor, and adjust height of the vehicle. The ECU receives a normal height signals from the left and the right height sensors individually, and controls each of the left and the right height adjusting actuators. The ECU ignores the signal outputted from a defective height sensor, and interlocks the left and the right height adjusting actuators mating to each of height sensors on the basis of right height signals. |
