The present invention relates to a method and a device for hydrogenation of a phthalate compound. According to the method and the device for hydrogenation, an overall lifespan of a catalyst in a hydrogenation reaction process of a phthalate-based compound can be increased by partitioning the device into regions having different catalytic activity, and operating the device by different regions. Thus, the method and the device for hydrogenation reduce costs for maintaining the process and repairing the device, thereby improving stability of the process and enhancing productivity.
