PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which exhibits excellent wettability and adhesiveness to an adherend such as a polarizing plate, a method for producing the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet and a surface protective film using the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition.SOLUTION: The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition according to the present invention contains an acrylic polymer, a polyfunctional isocyanate, and a modified organosiloxane and has a surface free energy of 30 mJ/mor more as calculated by the Kitazaki-Hata method. The pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet according to the present invention includes a substrate film and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on at least one surface of the substrate film, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contains the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. The pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet according to the present invention can be used as a surface protective film.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
