The present technology relates to a solid state imaging apparatus and a drive method that make it possible to more easily obtain high-quality images, and to an electronic apparatus. The solid state imaging apparatus has a pixel array region that has provided thereto a plurality of pixels that perform photoelectric conversion on incident light. The pixel array region has provided thereto a first pixel group and a second pixel group that have different output characteristics. The second pixel group is arranged in a position that is shifted with respect to the first pixel group exactly one half pixel in the horizontal direction and in the vertical direction. As a result of the first pixel group and the second pixel group being arranged in such a way, deterioration of the resolution of photographed images is suppressed to a minimum, and high-quality images can more easily be obtained. The present technology can be applied to a solid state imaging device. |
