PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert capable of efficiently dissipating heat generated at cutting time, and a cutting tool having the same.SOLUTION: An insert 1 comprises a shank part 2 being a substantially bar shape and having a substantially circular shape when viewing from the tip and a cutting edge part 3 provided on the tip of the shank part 2, in which the cutting edge part 3 comprises a base part 4 and a blade part 5 soldered to the base part 4, and the blade part 5 comprises a cutting edge 6 having a front cutting edge 6a and a horizontal cutting edge 6b and a rake face 7, and the ratio (L/L) of the length Lon the front cutting edge 6a side of the base part 4 and the length Lof the front cutting edge 6a of the blade part 5 is 0.4-1, and the ratio (L/L) of the length Lof the front cutting edge 6a and the length Lof the horizontal cutting edge 6b is 2 or less, and an edge angle &thetas; being an angle formed of the front cutting edge 6a and the horizontal cutting edge 6b is 60-83°. |
