<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell in which power generating operation is possible with high stability in a vaporization-supplying type fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: This is constituted of a power generating part 20, an air supply part 30 for supplying an oxygen gas to an air electrode 21, and a fuel supply part 40 for supplying a fuel gas such as a methanol gas to a fuel electrode 23 after a liquid fuel is vaporized. The fuel supply part 40 is constituted of a fuel electrode side cabinet 41, a fuel storage part 42 into which an aqueous methanol solution is filled, a liquid fuel vaporization film 43 in which methanol in an aqueous methanol solution is vaporized and converted into the methanol gas, and fuel electrode gas diffusion layers 46, 49 in which the methanol gas is diffused and introduced into the fuel electrode 23 or the like. Surfaces 41a, 43a on a void part 42a side of the fuel electrode side cabinet 41 and the liquid fuel vaporization 43 are subjected to hydrophilicizing treatment.
