<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for forming a dielectric ceramic, which can be fired at a lower temperature compared to conventional ones and is capable of yielding a dielectric ceramic material having a high dielectric constant, and the dielectric ceramic material using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for forming the dielectric ceramic contains a perovskite (ABO<SB>3</SB>)-based ceramic material powder with an average particle size of 0.01-0.5 μm and a glass powder with an average particle size of 0.1-5 μm, wherein the amount of the glass powder added is 3-12 wt.%.
