A fluorescent lamp type backlight unit and a method for assembling the same are provided to achieve the uniform brightness of the backlight unit, by preventing respective constituent parts of the backlight unit from being mis-located due to external impact or vibration. A fluorescent lamp(40) emits visible light by an external power. A light guiding plate(50) transforms the visible light into planar light. A reflecting plate is disposed below the light guiding plate, wherein the reflecting plate reflects the planar light to the front of a backlight unit. Various optical sheets(60) are disposed above the light guiding plate, wherein the optical sheets condense and diffuse the planar light. Guide members(11) are integrated into a cover bottom(10), wherein the guide members fix the reflecting plate, the light guiding plate, and the optical sheets. A guide panel is coupled with the cover bottom, wherein the guide panel has one or more supporters for fixing the fluorescent lamp. |
