<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimetabolic syndrome material having AMPK activating action and high safety. <P>SOLUTION: The invention discloses an AMPK activation agent expected to have preventing and treating effect on metabolic syndromes such as obesity, hyperlipemia, hyperglycemia (diabetes) and hypertension. The AMPK activation agent contains extract of e.g. rosemary and/or sage. The activation of AMPK can be efficiently promoted by the use of the AMPK activation agent.
