<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for oxidizing carbon monoxide in reformed gas with high activity at lower temperature, and to provide a method for producing the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for oxidizing carbon monoxide is produced by depositing an alloy particle composed of gold and platinum at the least on a metal oxide based on iron and has high CO-oxidizing activity in a low temperature range. Therefore, this catalyst for oxidizing carbon monoxide can allow high-purity reformed hydrogen gas to be produced while restraining an oxidation reaction of hydrogen gas and a methanation reaction consuming hydrogen gas, which reactions are obvious in a high temperature range, and the efficiency of a PEFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell) can be increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
