<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical communication equipment capable of further reducing the number of components by using a light source of a back light also as a light receiving means of signal light, avoiding a problem concerned when an exclusive light receiving element is provided to more effectively attain a higher function, miniaturization and weight reduction of information equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In a "transmission mode", a switching circuit 6 connects LEDs 2a-2d to a transmission drive part 4, the transmission drive part 4 drives the LEDs 2a-2d by forward bias to emit the signal light. On the other hand, in a "reception mode", the switching circuit 6 connects LEDs 2a-2d to a reception control part 5, the reception control part 5 provides backward bias to the LEDs 2a-2d, functions the LEDs 2a-2d as light emitting elements to receive the signal light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
