PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescent element wherein a substrate is at least provided with: a cathode for implanting electrons into an organic light emitting layer; an anode for implanting holes; and the organic light emitting layer, formed by delta-arranging a plurality of unit lattices, with a triangular pixel constituted by three or more kinds of light emitting portions of different emitted light colors, as a unit lattice. SOLUTION: The light emitting portion emits with the same emitted light color out of a plurality of light emitting portions constituting the organic light emitting layer, and is arrayed in a row with predetermined intervals. By using a printing plate formed by providing a plurality of rows of stripe type image-forming portions whose width is set at the same width as the light emitting portion, a process for forming a stripe type thin film comprising a light emitting portion-forming material all over a stripe type region including forming places of the light emitting portions, is repeated times of the number of different emitted light colors, thereby the light emitting portions which emit the predetermined light colors are selectively arranged in order at predetermined parts of an upper part of the substrate.
