PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idle stop controlling device to effect proper re-start of an engine and exert no influence on other electric system by effectively using the power of a capacitor. SOLUTION: The idle stop controlling device is provided with an inverter 140; and a switch unit 120 having a switch 121 and a diode 122 situated between the positive electrodes of a capacitor 130 and a battery 110. In a diode 122, a direction extending from a battery 110 to the capacitor 130 is set as a forward direction. In case of switching to idle stop, the switch 121 is opened, the battery 110 is electrically cut off, a power is generated at a relatively high voltage by the inverter 140 and only the capacitor 130 is charged therewith. Since, during starting of an engine, a high voltage power is supplied from the capacitor 130 to an inverter 140, an engine 200 is smoothly started. Even when discharge of the capacitor 130 is progressed and an output voltage comes to the output voltage of the battery 110, only when the engine 200 is not started, a power is supplied from the battery 110 to the inverter 140.
