PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance work in a lift device of various cargo handling machine facilities. SOLUTION: The lift device is provided with a lift support framework 41 structured of a pair of supports 43, an upper beam 44, a lower beam 45 and one or more intermediate beams 46 - 48, an elevating rack 42 supported by the lift support framework 41 freely to move in the vertical direction inside a shaft 6 provided on a side of the lift support framework 41, and a ladder part 8 arranged in areas outside a hoisting interference area inside the shaft 6 and extended in the vertical direction over from the upper beam 44 to the lower beam 45 of the lift support framework 41 and fitted to the lift support framework 41.
