METHOD OF REMOVING IMPURITY IN ORGANIC SOLVENT AND IMPURITY REMOVAL INSTALLATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing impurities in an organic solvent and an impurity removal installation which enable efficient separation of an organic solvent and impurities.SOLUTION: A method of removing impurities in an organic solvent includes a neutralization step of adding a neutralizer to an organic solvent containing impurities to form neutralized sediment and an oil/water separation step of oil/water-separating the organic solvent containing the neutralized sediment into a water phase containing the neutralized sediment and an organic phase. In the neutralization step, the temperature of the organic solvent is adjusted to 50-60°C. The adjustment of the temperature of the organic solvent to 50-60°C in the neutralization step decreases the viscosity of the organic solvent, leading to an increase of the speed at which the neutralized sedimentation precipitates into the water phase, which increases the phase separability and enables efficient separation of the organic solvent and impurities.
