The invention relates to a dustbin lock comprising a catch (2) that is located in a lock housing (1), a locking counter-part (3) that has a hook (4) and an opening slide element (5) in said lock housing (1), which element is displaced linearly from a base position into a displaced position as a result of gravity, when the lock housing (1) is pivoted from a closed position about an opening pivoting axis (6) in an opening pivoting direction (6') into an open position. The opening slide element is coupled to the catch (2) in such a way that the latter adopts a locking position with the hook (4) in the base position of the opening slide element (5) and a release position in the displaced position of the opening slide element (5). The aim of the invention is to improve the benefits during use. To achieve this, the invention discloses at least one movable blocking element (7, 8) in the event of misuse, which is associated with the opening slide element (5) and which blocks the displacement of said element (5) from the base position into the displacement position, if the housing (1) is pivoted about an axis other than the opening pivoting axis (6) or is pivoted about the opening pivoting axis (6) in a direction other than the opening pivoting direction (6'). |
