PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a nip pressure uniform in a longitudinal direction, and also, to secure the sufficient nip pressure, regarding a belt heating device optimal to the achievement of energy-saving and high-speed processing. SOLUTION: The heating device includes a halogen heater 1, a fixing belt 2, a pressure belt 3, a permanent magnet 4, a yoke 5 and a pressure plate 7, and thermally presses an unfixed image carried on a transfer material P. The fixing belt 2 or the pressure belt 3 having the permanent magnet 4 and the yoke 5 at the inside thereof, is a flexible member. Regarding the shape of the yoke 5 positioned inside the fixation nip N, a center part thereof in the longitudinal direction of the fixation nip N is formed so as to project from the inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt 2 or the pressure belt 3 toward the fixation nip N.
