Disclosed are a CaAP communication method and a system for performing the same. The CaAP communication method according to an embodiment includes a step of receiving a POST message for a registration request, a step of checking whether the registration request is valid in response to the POST message, and a step of extracting the unit ID of at least one resource related to a node from the message payload of the POST message. So, the energy of constrained devices can be reduced.
