摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceria nanowire carrying platinum, in which use efficiency of carried platinum is improved and which thereby can exhibit high electrode performance even with carried platinum in an amount extremely smaller than an amount of platinum carried on the existing electrode material, and to provided a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The ceria nanowire carrying platinum is provided that has a surface having a Pt-O- -oxygen-defective -cerium-defective structure and has a composition having less than 4.12 of an atomic ratio of metal platinum to the defective structure. The method for producing the ceria nanowire carrying platinum is provided in which a ceria nanowire dispersed in water including a reducing agent and chloroplatinic acid is irradiated with a quantum beam. It is preferred that the quantum beam is a beam selected from a proton beam, an electron beam and a γ ray, and that the reducing agent is ethanol.SELECTED DRAWING: None
