Heat exchanger component located in major part outside computer chassis

A heat exchanger component of an apparatus is in major part 102 operably locatable outside a computer chassis. The heat exchanger reduces the temperatures of one or more heat producing components 104 within the computer chassis. Heat may be transferred to the heat exchanger from the heat producing component 104 by a cold plate 106. The heat exchanger may comprise tubing 116 with a coolant fluid 117 passed through the tubing 116. The heat exchanger may comprise fins 118 against which the tubing 116 may abut and which are positioned outside the computer chassis. A fan 108, 110 may be provided to force air against the fins 118 to dissipate heat. A computer having such a heat exchanger and a method of employing such a heat exchanger are also provided.
