<p>A plug-in place number (3a)/configuration data (3b) and, if required, further data like a user number (4) or current window data is read into an electrically erasable programmable ROM (EEPROM) non-volatile memory (2) via a serial interface as a data record with a safety appendix. A safety appendix is created as a message digest 4 (MD4) signature (5) via a whole data record. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the method of the present invention, e.g. an electrically erasable programmable ROM (EEPROM) and an inter-integrated circuit interface.</p> |
