<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translation display device which can easily translate only the part a user desired to comprehend without depending on an OS or application and which is available comparatively easily even for an application in a foreign language. <P>SOLUTION: A display section 5 displays, on a display screen, a window of the application operating on the OS of a GUI form at. An OCR processing section 9 performs character recognition on a rectangular area around a mouse cursor placed within the window, and a translation processing section 10 translates English character-recognized by the OCR processing section 9 into Japanese.
